from the New Egypt Speedway website http://www.newegyptspeedway.net/news/2009/060209.htm
The SS Sprints are back at New Egypt Speedway!
After working with the
staff at New Egypt Speedway, we've put together a nice program for the SS Sprints for the remainder of the 2009 season. It is important that if you have
a car, THAT YOU SUPPORT THIS PROGRAM. We need your support to make this work! If you're a fan, and you like the show, be sure and tell Bill, Fred, and
Danny that you want the SS Sprints back and like the show!
Goodluck to all that we wont be racing with anymore! it was nice to meet all of you! i hope to see some of you guys again!

sportsman. The cars weigh 1900 pounds, or there abouts. They got small wings, manual steering and its the best show." |

Shame on Tony and New Egypt, putting races together and not notifying the CHATTER BOX CHAMP

The official notice just went up on SJDR two days ago and was posted to the NES website yesterday. In trying to get all this togther, I did not get a chance to
post it up here.
I know Mike has not taken to this decision well, and I am sure others have not either. Fact is, for many of us, it comes down to dollars and cents. Your purse in PA is excellent for a sportsman level class, but with the price of gas and tolls it is very difficult to even come remotely close to breaking even unless you are finishing in the top 10 every week. The level of competition in PA is far above what we have here in NJ. Half of the cars that will be competiting at NES were never in PA and never intended to go to PA. I love racing with you guys even with all the problems we had this year. But, honestly...I can't keep dumping $100's of dollars down the drain every week in basic expenses...not even counting broken parts and maintenance. I tried, but after all the money I lost this year (wreck and motor), I'm out of the high dollar road trip game for a while. The format we developed is not the greatest in the world, but it will be a low pressure good time. We only have a few dates this year so I'm hoping to still get out there on the off weeks. Any PA team that wants to make a weekend down the shore out of it is more than welcome to come on down! I'd be glad to help in any way. Most of the dates are on the non-Grove weekends. TP |

Tony, good luck with your New Egypt endeavor. If things don't work out there we would love to have the Jersey boys back in the division. I rooted for
you guys and enjoyed Wyckoff's win at Port Royal. I can understand the financial frustration of equipment issues and the learning curve racing against guys
who have been racing on these tracks for years. You'll be missed.

I agree, the Saturday show needs to be every week possible at the Grove. Street Stocks Late Models and Sportsman with 4 cyls some. I'm sure Sportsman guys
would disagree but they need to be at the same track to build this up again and the Grove is the only track available for now. jmo.

I am sure there is truth to the one track thing. Honestly..when it came to our NE set up..once we got it right all we ever changed was gear, wing, and stagger.
There is a whole lot more changing between all the different tracks out there. Nevermind the whole driver aspect... I gotta say...our favorite track was Lincoln..but maybe that's the short track guy in me liking the small tracks. It was an easier transition for us there...even with brake problems the first night in a new car. We're absolutely going to the 100 lapper and as many other dates as I can afford. TP |

I'm sorry Tony I will have to disgree with you there. There isn't no changing from 1 track to the next out here. You can run everything the same from
Williams Grove,Port Royal and Bedford. I know I've done it with many teams. Even the same setup for Lincoln and Trail-Ways other then changing gears.
Williams Grove,Port Royal and Bedford ran the same gearing.
I heard this quote from many people. Like Doug Wolfgang,Smokey Snellbaker and Smitty......... "The car doesn't know where it's at. Only you do. So why do you make so many changes to the car with bars, shocks and gears?" KEEP IT SIMPLE SILLY other wise knows at KISS! So crack a bottle, let your body waddle
