someone who knows wrote: I just spoke with Stan. He had nothing bad to say about JSR he has the up most respect for the team. He couldn't thank them enough for the ride and the 2 wins last year at Williams Grove. He expressed to me he wishes them the best of luck with the new/old driver. The team felt like they needed to make a change. Stan will be back in action this weekend. He already has a ride. I believe the number would be 65. He'll be driving for Bob Gutshall. It's a older Woodering he said. So crack a bottle, let your body waddle

I have been a Smokey fan for many years but I know my reflex's are not the same as when I first became his fan. I doubt his are either. I hear Gregg is
available and I consider him one of the most talented drivers at every track. I know he could make that 32 car go fast and I think it would be a great
combinatiuon. I also know John will make the right choice for the Team. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Agreed I mean Smokey wasnt too competitive in the 32 couple years back was he?? Has he even been competitive in any racecar recently??
Dont get me wrong I used to love watching the "Silver Fox" wheel his way round the Springs..but dont think he would be able to wheel it around the
Grove..Then again its not my team looking for a driver, just a fan looking to see the 32 to be as much of a contender as Stan was in the 32

I can tell you this much. Smokey has been lurkin' around and wants to drive really bad. I believe Smokey was lined up for the 175 ride and then they made
contact with Gregg Foster and then he took it.

Well I wanna drive really bad too does that mean I should be in the car?? I would think the JSR car would want to be competitive...not
sure you would get that from Smokey...

With all due respect........Our opinion doesn't matter NONE of us pays the bills at JSR...... So with that in mind we can sit here and say this driver
would suck and this driver can't get the job done.......bluh bluh bluh....Our opinion doesn't matter. So why even put yourself out there to look like
some a$$. Whatever JSR decides to do I'm sure they feel it's in the best interest for THEM! So on that note........ Good Luck to the team and the
driver they pick to put in the car.
Here's another way of looking at it. If you think putting Smokey in the car is the wrong thing to do cause you feel he doesn't have it anymore. Why would you be upset about that? If you feel that Smokey can't get the job done and it's a step backwards then in your opinion/feeling that should be 1 less car you'd have to worry about racing hard up front each week for the win............Right? Foster has had shots in good cars and really hasn't done much. I think Smokey is a good choice.

Just to clear things up...Smokey was never "in" my car, the #175. When I contacted individuals whose opinions I trusted on who could help us out
while my driver is recovering from illness, Smokey's name was mentioned to me.
Personally, I did not know Smokey, but was interested in having such a famous guy wheel my car. After looking at the whole situation, I pegged Greg after weighing all the factors involved. I met and briefly spoke with Smokey on Sat night and he seems to be a really nice guy. Unfortunely, since we have some serious motor issues, and this year has already been an expensive one, I don't think anyone is going to be driving the #175 this week. Greg is a very capable driver and has a great crew. In just the few hours we were together I learned quite a bit. TP |
