Who will be at practice?? |
Lead | |
|
What cars are going to be there on Sunday for practice? I'm sure any new drivers or teams will probably be there and
many of the returning teams. But I am sure that there are those who will skip the event because of the condition the track will be in after after the sprint
show.
"I love going to Silver Springs and watching the
sportsman. The cars weigh 1900 pounds, or there abouts. They got small wings, manual steering and its the best show." |

Only one I can say for sure is that Berkheimer will be ready to race but not for the practice. Talked to him at the track on Sunday.

Don't look for MCR to be there. With the cost of gas to get to the track and fuel prices for racing fuel being up Our bug day will be opening day in
hotlaps.

Unless your a Rookie and have never wheeled a high powered Ride, Bug Days are a Waste of Time and Equipment.

evidently you haven't been around sportsman too long. Bug day has been the "most awaited time" for drivers and fans "until that BIG
day" since back in the 50's and 60's. I'm sure all those old past champions and top drivers will be interested to know their appearances on
bug day was because of them being either a rookie or a waste of time and equipment. Bug day is exactly that, a day to "shake the bugs" out of the
car and see how it is handling, how the motor is working, etc. Now if your driver and car is PERFECT then excuse me, you certainly don't have to be there.

50's & 60's WOW !
I haven't been around that long, but Iv'e Been around Long Enough to Know (as I stated before) in 2008, that it's a Waste of Time. For the most part nowadays guys are running store bought stuff or stuff from last year. If it worked last year, and you have competent people working on your car you should be all set to go opening day. If your guys can't put a car together that goes forward and then turns left, maybe it's time for a new crew. And Yes I won't be there, enjoy paying to "$hake the bug$ out" on a nice run in track surface. |

Hey Cornerman,
And since when do you have to pay to get in bug day? What track did you ever pay for bugday? Go back to that track. |

yep - just stick those store bought or last year parts in and hope they work. Don't check them out....wait until the driver checks them out in the first
race. First corner, first lap should be exciting for HIS driver. You are right, probably a grandstander..never sat in a racecar or lifted a wrench. Oh well,
nice to have some comedy on here.

Kimmee, I am aware that at 'The Good Ole Silver Springs' Fans could watch shake down practice for free, but if your telling me that anyone (driver,
crew, owner, just people that want to be in the pit's) going into the pit's on "Bug Day" get in for free, then I was / am mistaken.

Calling BMOTB | ||
|
Hey BMOTB,
If I am a driver or crew and I want to come at the end of the races Sunday just for the practice, do I have to pay to get in? Same for fans who are there at the end of the races for practice only? To be specific (after the races) when the feature has ended! Hey Cornerman, can ya have the driver's make it turn 3 not 1 that we get to see the excitement and we can bring him in. Get cold on that truck at the beggining of the year.

I think you will find that it will cost you 20 bucks to take you car to bugday, but you will be able to see the 410s race. That would be nice to just go over
after the races though. bmotb see what you can find out.

BrucePa wrote: I'm not sure about the store bought parts but it you wanna call Millers Racing Products a store bought place then ok. But anyhow if there's nothing wrong with last year parts and you check them correctly why wouldn't you use them? Only thing we bought new over the winter was a new wing, body and front wheels and a few left rears radious rods for the car. The motor was fresh at the end of the season. The rear has been pulled and check along with the tork tube and motor plate. Ben Woodering went over the frame. And we have a great engine package with Scott Baylor Racing Engines. Same bird cages,Front axle,hubs,spindels.... Hell we still have the same arms from last year. And oh yea I'm putting in the same bars we last raced on. They was checked and still good. I love how people just spend money for the sake of having something new. If you take care of your stuff and have it checked correctly it will last. Don't get me wrong I'd love to have new stuff also but it there's no need for it and what you have is just as good with some elbow work there's no need to spend money on that item place that money else where to good use.
