As an engine builder, past and present, I can fully understand your position. I don't think most people understand the time it takes to pick components, check clearances, etc. And if you need to rely on someone to do machine work that also can take time. I have seen many times where a customer wanted an engine put together with minimal money and junk parts, you do them a favor, it comes unglued, and you are the worst person in the world. Seems like the Baylor engine that is in the 318 is pretty good. (the first 2 were not Baylor engines) If you want a good engine...put good parts in it. Sometimes putting lite-weight pistons in an engine is not always a good idea. The abuse they take from vibration and just being pounded by all the compression is enough to weaken them. I wonder how many people who say negative things about baylor actually know anything about engines and how they work?

If Baylor built you such a fast motor why did Walt half to take it to another Eng Shop to get it running. Just a fact. One 358 Sprint car driver took his Eng. to him in Feb. to have one put together, he took him all the parts and is steal waiting for it. What happen to the building he was going to buy up here. Heard he never showed up the day he was to sign the papers. Just wondering. Lot of people are looking for him or asking a lot of question. Does not sound right.

Sheriff Rosco P Coltrane- Like i said im not going to rip anyone! Baylor built us a very fast motor! no one every said he didnt! thats why i said what i said!
